Alvin WHO? He won WHAT?

Seems like every time I turn around, South Carolina is making the national news. If it's not the Governor admitting to having an affair with a Brazilian bombshell, it's a Senator using the term "raghead" to describe both NObama and a Republican gubernatorial canditate in an upcoming election. One way or another, the great state of South Carolina seems to be getting more than its fair share of national news airtime lately.

This time all of the attention is being caused by the results of the recent elections that were held this week. The campaigning for both Republican and Democratic spots on the tickets for the respective places in the US Senate was intense, and it wasn't always pretty. The campaigning was pretty much what you'd have expected, with the Demoncrats lining up behind NObama and trying to ride into office on his coattails, while the Republicans were all lining up against NObama, all of them blasting what he'd done and saying how they were going to go to DC and help undo it.

When the elections were over a runoff was called for the Republican seat, but there was a clear winner of the Demoncratic ticket with the candidate getting a clear 59% of the vote.

Problem, is, the winner was an unemployed Army veteran named Alvin Greene whom no one had ever heard of. Yet he got 59% of the vote.

By his own admission he ran his whole campaign out of his father's home in Manning, SC which is where he's been living for the past 9 months while collecting unemployment bennies from the State, and the total cost of his campaign was, he claims, less than $2,000.00.

He had NO campaign staff, ran NO advertisements, ran NO active campaign, received NO campaign donations, yet he won the election with 59% of the vote.

If you ask me, something is rotten in the state of South Carolina.

The first question that is being asked is where did he get the $10,400.00 filing fee to get his name on the ballot? He claims it came out of his own personal finances, but since he's been unemployed for the past 9 months, how is that possible?

The next obvious question which has everyone in the entire state, especially the members of the state Demoncratic party, scratching their heads is just how the hell did he manage to win? Nobody ever heard of this guy, yet he gets 59% of the vote to run away with the election. You can't tell me that he won purely by word of mouth; there has to be another reason.

Needless to say, the state Demoncratic party is calling for an investigation into the election, and I think it's more than justified. In the mean time the Chairman of the State Demoncratic Party called Greene and asked him to step aside, and Greene refused. The reason the state party asked him to step aside is twofold: first, he has ZERO chance of defeating his Republican opponent, Senator Jim DeMint. Second, Greene is currently awaiting trial on obscenity charges in Columbia. Seems that last November he was arrested for showing pornographic images on his laptop to a University of South Carolina coed, who is now screaming bloody murder that this creep is the Demoncratic nominee for the US Senate seat. When asked about this, Greene refused to talk about it saying that his campaign needed to be about the issues, not about Alvin Greene.

Right.

Like I said, something is indeed rotten in the state of South Carolina. There is absolutely no way in hell that this unknown, unemployed asshole can come out of nowhere and win the election like he did. I have a feeling that when the investigation into the election is over, heads are gonna be rolling in South Carolina.

And deservedly so.
