Random Thoughts on a Tuesday Morning

Yeah, I know it's been a while since I posted, but between being sick, working my ass off, and road tripping to my parent's house in North Carolina, I've been kinda busy. Besides, there's been so much going on in the news lately that infuriates and disgusts me that I've had a hard time narrowing it down to just one thing. So I decided to do a "Random Thoughts" post and hit all of them at the same time.

Ready? Heeeeeeeere we go!

This one's really gonna have the Demoncrats and the gun-grabbers pissing themselves...the US Supreme Court has declared that Chicago's decades-old handgun ban is unconstitutional, stating that the 2nd Amendment applies to all 50 states and applies to the PEOPLE as individuals. This is quite an historic event in the ongoing battle for the right to keep and bear arms, and the Brady Bunch is gonna be having conniptions over this for a looooong time! More ammunition for the NRA and the GOA to use in their fight to get the draconian and unconstitutional gun laws currently in existence overturned...hooray for them!

And the fight has begun in Washington over NObama's latest nominee to the Supreme Court. For the life of me I can't figure out what makes this moron tick...he has an opening for a LIFETIME APPOINTMENT to the highest court in the land, and does he pick a Federal judge for it? Noooooo...does he pick a state judge for it? Nooooooo...does he pick ANY judge for it? Nooooooo..he picks someone who has never been a judge, never sat on the bench, and never rendered a legal decision of any kind in any case anywhere at any time. 'Scuse me, but how much sense does THAT make? Just more proof that the people of this nation elected an inexperienced, inept, liberal socialist as President. Personally, I don't think she's gonna get confirmed, but one can only hope.

If you didn't see General McChrystal's resignation and retirement coming, then you weren't paying attention. First and foremost, I gotta say this: McChrystal hung himself out to dry when he gave that interview for "Rolling Stone." ANY person in the military knows that you absolutely DO NOT under ANY circumstances talk bad about your commander to the media. And a GENERAL OFFICER should know this better than anyone - I mean, really, think about it: you have to have more than your fair share of brains to get to the rank of General, so you'd think that McChrystal would know better. While I'll be the first to say that NObama knows only of military doctrine and procedures what he's been told by his staff since The Great Pretender has never spent a day in uniform, I will also say that he was absolutely right in "requesting his resignation." And once a general officer has that happen to him, he's pretty much done. McChrystal had no choice but to retire, but like I said, he did it to himself.

As if things in the Gulf Coast area weren't bad enough, on top of the oil spill which BP is doing nothing to control, now they have a possible hurricane heading their way. Not good news for the Gulf Coast, and even worse news for BP I read online on a web site for "24/7 Wall Street" that the web site predicted that BP would cease to exist as a company by 2011. Considering that this site is the same that predicted the fall of Palm and Saturn in 2010, I think they're on to something. There's no way that BP is gonna be able to recover from what this spill is costing them - no way at all.

And then there's good ol' Joe Biden, another idiot in Washington DC in a high position of power. If ever there was a VP who is good at sticking his foot in his mouth and making a total ass out of himself, Joe is it. With this latest wisecrack about the shop owner who asked him to lower taxes being a "smartass," Biden has proven several things to the American people: he's proven that he doesn't have the professionalism to act like a VP should, he's nothing more than a low-class Yankee in a fancy suit, and he has no real respect for the people themselves. I can't wait for this bum to become the FORMER Vice President. Asshole.

On the local scene, the "come out of nowhere" winner of the Demoncratic nomination for the US Senate, Al Greene, has now come under investigation by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, also known as SLED. Seems that Al can't - or won't - produce any financial records showing where the $10,440.00 filing fee came from, so the folks at SLED are using a little-known South Carolina law to let them take a peek at his finances. On top of that, Greene is still facing felony obscenity charges in November, just about the same time the election is going to be held. THAT should be interesting to say the least! Greene has said that he's looking forward to debating Jim DeMint, his Republican opponent, on LIVE TV prior to the elections...man, I can't wait for that! It's gonna be a bloodbath! DeMint is gonna tear good ol' Al a new one on live TV, and the election is gonna be a slaughter! The Demoncrats will vote for DeMint just to keep this unknown, unemployed loser out of Washington! This is gonna be good!

And that's about it for now. More to come later!

Alvin WHO? He won WHAT?

Seems like every time I turn around, South Carolina is making the national news. If it's not the Governor admitting to having an affair with a Brazilian bombshell, it's a Senator using the term "raghead" to describe both NObama and a Republican gubernatorial canditate in an upcoming election. One way or another, the great state of South Carolina seems to be getting more than its fair share of national news airtime lately.

This time all of the attention is being caused by the results of the recent elections that were held this week. The campaigning for both Republican and Democratic spots on the tickets for the respective places in the US Senate was intense, and it wasn't always pretty. The campaigning was pretty much what you'd have expected, with the Demoncrats lining up behind NObama and trying to ride into office on his coattails, while the Republicans were all lining up against NObama, all of them blasting what he'd done and saying how they were going to go to DC and help undo it.

When the elections were over a runoff was called for the Republican seat, but there was a clear winner of the Demoncratic ticket with the candidate getting a clear 59% of the vote.

Problem, is, the winner was an unemployed Army veteran named Alvin Greene whom no one had ever heard of. Yet he got 59% of the vote.

By his own admission he ran his whole campaign out of his father's home in Manning, SC which is where he's been living for the past 9 months while collecting unemployment bennies from the State, and the total cost of his campaign was, he claims, less than $2,000.00.

He had NO campaign staff, ran NO advertisements, ran NO active campaign, received NO campaign donations, yet he won the election with 59% of the vote.

If you ask me, something is rotten in the state of South Carolina.

The first question that is being asked is where did he get the $10,400.00 filing fee to get his name on the ballot? He claims it came out of his own personal finances, but since he's been unemployed for the past 9 months, how is that possible?

The next obvious question which has everyone in the entire state, especially the members of the state Demoncratic party, scratching their heads is just how the hell did he manage to win? Nobody ever heard of this guy, yet he gets 59% of the vote to run away with the election. You can't tell me that he won purely by word of mouth; there has to be another reason.

Needless to say, the state Demoncratic party is calling for an investigation into the election, and I think it's more than justified. In the mean time the Chairman of the State Demoncratic Party called Greene and asked him to step aside, and Greene refused. The reason the state party asked him to step aside is twofold: first, he has ZERO chance of defeating his Republican opponent, Senator Jim DeMint. Second, Greene is currently awaiting trial on obscenity charges in Columbia. Seems that last November he was arrested for showing pornographic images on his laptop to a University of South Carolina coed, who is now screaming bloody murder that this creep is the Demoncratic nominee for the US Senate seat. When asked about this, Greene refused to talk about it saying that his campaign needed to be about the issues, not about Alvin Greene.

Right.

Like I said, something is indeed rotten in the state of South Carolina. There is absolutely no way in hell that this unknown, unemployed asshole can come out of nowhere and win the election like he did. I have a feeling that when the investigation into the election is over, heads are gonna be rolling in South Carolina.

And deservedly so.
