Yeah, I know it's a well-worn statement, but it's still relevant because now more than ever if you live in New York City, it's the truth.
The sad thing is that most of the people who live there don't realize it. At least, not the ones who voted for this socialist clown, and there were enough of them that he got elected to begin with.
I could spend this entire entry listing all of the many ways that the idiots who voted for this clown - and that's what they are, idiots - fucked both themselves and NYC, but I won't. Maybe I'll save that for another time, maybe not, but right now I want to talk about the clown himself.
From this point on I shall refer to the subject of this blog entry as "BOZO," because he's a clown. And that's being nice. (It's also because it's easier to type than his real name.)
There are several key things that either Bozo doesn't understand, or he does understand them but ran his platform on them anyway because he knew the idiots who would vote for him didn't understand them. Those key things are, in no particular order: Basic economics, Basic legal authority, and Cause and Effect. So let's talk about them, shall we?
Basic Economics. Bozo has no idea how basic economics works, and this is proven by his push to move NYC away from capitalism and into socialism. You can't provide ANYTHING for free, because there is no such thing. Somebody somewhere has to pay for it, and 100% of the time the money comes from - wait for it - higher taxes, a staple of the Demoncratic mantra. But of course Bozo has a plan for this, and that plan is to raise taxes on the millionaires in NYC. (That leads us right into Cause and Effect, but I'm not ready to go there just yet.)
He also doesn't understand that if you raise the minimum wage in order to provide - and I hate to use the term because it's a made-up libtard bullshit term - a "living wage," that will do several things. It will force 'mom and pop' businesses to close because either they can't afford it or they'll have to cut staffing which will hurt their business and force them to close anyway. It will also force bigger companies to cut staffing which will result in reduced services and less efficiency. Or they could go the route that McDonald's is taking and replace paid staffers with automated machines. Either way, the workers are the ones who will suffer because they're the ones who will be losing their jobs.
Basic Legal Authority. During his campaign Bozo made several promises that I believe he knew he didn't have the authority to do, but he made them anyway knowing that the PEOPLE didn't know that, would hear the good news, and vote for him - which is exactly what happened. The two main things he promised to do was to lower bus fares and lower rent throughout the city. Only thing is, both of those things are NOT controlled by the Mayor's Office in NYC. They're controlled by the state government in Albany, and even Kathy Hochul, idiot that she is, knows that you can't do either of those things without catastrophic results. And Bozo knows this as well, which is why he hasn't approached Hochul about either.
Recently Bozo made the statement that he would arrest the Prime Minister of Israel when he came to NYC to attend the Useless Nations based on a warrant issued by the International Court claiming that Netanyahu was a war criminal. Well, in the first place, that bullshit court has no authority over the United States for two reasons: first, we're not a member of that bullshit organization, and second, the United States Constitution. But Bozo made the statement anyway, and immediately got his nuts slapped by the President of the United States and the Department of Justice. Now he admits that he doesn't have the legal authority to arrest Netanyahu, but still says that he's "not welcome" in NYC.
News flash, Bozo - He doesn't care.
Cause and Effect. As soon as Bozo announced the new taxes he was proposing to make the rich "pay their fair share," the millionaires in NYC and the companies they own started looking elsewhere. Dozens of millionaires have sold their holdings and moved the fuck out of NYC, and if they closed a company doing it then they put a bunch of people out of work. Or rather, Bozo put a bunch of people out of work. When he noticed that the rich were fleeing NYC and taking their money with them, what was his answer? WHy, a new tax, of course! An 'exit tax' ala Kalifornia and Gavin Newscum. Like that's gonna stop people from leaving - they'll just pay the tax and be gone, taking their money with them. And last week Bozo announced that he's putting yet another higher tax on the second homes owned by these millionaires, boasting and laughing about it on social media.
And the immediate result? Yep, you guessed it - all those millionaires who hadn't sold off their holdings yet are doing just that. NYC real estate listings are flush with expensive homes that are now being sold because of Bozo.
I could go on with just how badly this clown is hurting NYC, but I think you get the point.
Every now and then in life you see something going on that you just know is going to end very badly, but there's nothing you can do to stop it. And the more you talk about it, the less the people who are causing it listen and care. At that point all you can do is just sit back and watch the train wreck, then step in and pick up the pieces when the smoke clears.
That's where we're at with New York City right now. Bozo is going to be the total ruination of that city, and it won't be long before the city economy collapses and the city becomes a socialist shithole. And when that happens - and trust me, it will - then it will be the Republican's turn to come in and clean up the mess. And hopefully the idiots who elected Bozo and let this happen will have learned a lesson and finally stop voting for socialist/communist clowns.
But I ain't holding my breath on that one.
